Volunteer Engagement Program with our donor Partner UST CSR – In Skilling the youth of Ashalaya Bagepalli Skill Training Center.
On 25th June 2022, we welcomed and spent a happy and enriching time together with the UST Voluteers Mr. Kiran Doreswamy, Deputy Center Head, Program Managers from UST Mr. Vishwas, Ms. Nidhi Garg, and Mr. Varun, and Mr. Chethan from UST Global along with Ms. Smitha Sharma, CSR Global Program Manager, the lead for Ashalaya Trust. It is a continued collaboration since one year in skilling 100 youths of Bagepalli, Chikkaballapura district of Karnataka.
The volunteers spend their time with 100 students who are undergoing training in ‘Retail Sales Associate’ and ‘Industrial Sewing Machine Operator’. Also the Alumni students were part of the event to share the colorful life which they enjoy today with an employment. Mr. Kiran Doreswamy motivated the students with an inspiring speech which focused on to build up the skills of each trainee everyday to keep the dreams high so that there is a progress of achievements. He also invited the participants to become entrepreneurs and supporters of themselves with the training given. The talk concluded saying that the positive power would lead the whole humanity into goodness.
Ms. Smitha Sharma motivated the students by saying that the journey of each trainee in getting trained and placed is a collaborative initiative of the trainee, implementing organization and UST. There was a assurance to students that UST would give support the best way possible to see the growth of each trainee.
Ashalaya Trust have been training the unemployed youth of rural areas with job-oriented skills and giving them placement. Ashalaya has been implementing this program keeping the target as youth from the age group of 18 years above and 35 years below. The training is for three months specifically for those who are school drop outs, those who are not able to get into job due to the lack of skills in basic computers and English and life skills. Ashalaya for the past 11 years have been doing this service to people in and around with good facilities in two training centers. Ashalaya have trained 10000+ youth in the past years without getting any money from them and have placed 60% of the in job and other 20% of them with self-employment support. The youth who are otherwise would not have been able to get a job in this competitive world have got a job and supports their family with the income they received. We have witnessed such many examples Infront of our eyes. The girls in the rural area have been making use of this opportunity to support their family financially and there by getting a chance in the decision making of the family.
Ashalaya Trust has history of over 8 years in Bagepalli with its initiative in skilling program. In the year 2014 Ashalaya launched itself to this place to cater and assist the youth in skilling themselves and find livelihood. Today the organization stands strong to witness the success of many youths around. Ashalaya has trained more than 1500 youth in the surrounding of Bagepalli in Chikkaballapura district.
There have been number of batches, number of trainees and various partnerships to sustain the program objectives. 25th June 2022 was yet another day to celebrate, to feel humbled about, to express our wholehearted gratitude to UST Global for the CSR collaboration for the last almost one year in skilling 100 youth in Bagepalli. Today we are happy to hold this gathering in the name of UST as an appreciation for support that we receive from them. We also take this opportunity to specially Thank Mrs. Smitha Sharma from UST for the ongoing support and lead that she takes for the cause of reaching out to the needy and giving the full support to Ashalaya trust in skilling the youth.
